We present a resource for thinking through choice points and design principles for intentional use and development.
This work came out of our #CHI 2024 workshop, LLMs as Research Tools: sites.google.com/view/llmsind...
TL;DR: LLMs are quickly permeating qualitative and mixed-method research workflows, raising potentially fundamental tensions with research values, but also opportunities for the intentional design of tools to support researchers.
Excited to be presenting "LLMs in Qualitative Research: Uses, Tensions, and Intentions" with @mariannealq.bsky.social at #CHI2025 today!
