The Fire and Brimstone update closed out our early access updates by introducing a new endless mode, emotes, automatons, volcanic biomes, and new submarine layouts.
September 29, 2025:
The Brimstone update added fire.
And torpedoes that cause fire.
And rooms that catch fire.
And aliens in boxes that burst out when the room is… on fire.
Nothing about this was a mistake.
August 12, 2025:
The Invasion Update saw the introduction of the Kraken...
It also added more stealth mechanics, new biomes, and new deep sea horrors.
Bonus: mice now scream when falling into the abyss.
April 22, 2025:
Darkwater launched into Early Access!
Divers got their first experience of submarine chaos. Then we introduced community updates - quality of life improvements, new rooms, and new weapons.
Also: motion sickness patch (see, we listen!)
Darkwater has come a long way since it's Early Access launch.
