For 125 years since Federation, Australia has relied on the UK for defence (& they abandoned us in WWII) now US, but neither ANZUS nor AUKUS is a defence guarantee.
Time to go it alone, before we piss more billions away for submarines we'll never see.
The NACC has let Robodebt's architects off the hook, while Labor's dubiously legal welfare compliance regime continues to demean, punish and harm thousands.
Robodebt is not an artifact of history. It's a living warning to a Labor government that refuses to listen.
Two arrests under Queensland Premier David Crisafulli's criminalisation of speech. One person is alleged to have spoken a banned phrase outside the Queensland parliament. A second person is alleged to have worn a T-shirt displaying a banned phrase. #qldpol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
What are we paying these pathetic excuses?
Worse than school children.
Looks like they're about to kiss. Ewww.
Albo has a similar photo with Dump.
Why is anyone surprised?
It's totally in character for Maga Labor.
In one sense it made sense to have bipartisan buy-in for the NACC. But given Dutton was the negotiating partner with a lot of mates to protect, it was always going to be a farce. Private hearings cemented things.
Yet more box ticking. "Look - we said we'd have a NACC and we delivered."
Painful.
The reality is the Canberra bubble was never going to allow their own to face consequences for Robodebt
'Lessons' from these #robodebt findings:
- two lower-level officials corrupt conduct findings
- key people responsible, Morrison & Campbell, face no consequences
- #NACC worse than useless
- governments can get away with anything
- no justice for the victims and families.
A total failure. #auspol

I asked the Government which countries they are seeking to target with these new powers. They said Iran.
They are trying to stop people from Iran with valid visas from coming to Australia.
Israel's aim, I expect, is to flatten all key urban areas in not only Iran but the other countries it hates so the landscape looks like Gaza and is unlivable.
I expect this will go on for a very long time.
Complete madness.

Single frame. Angus Taylor at table with generic colleague at whiteboard holding marker. On whiteboard, two headings: βGOOD IMMIGRANTSβ and βBAD IMMIGRANTSβ. Under first: β# People like us; # Business people; # Wealthy people; # Cheap labourβ. Nothing yet under second. Taylor says: βWell, we DONβT want the kinds of people that come from repressive terrorist regimesβ¦β Colleague says: βYou mean, the people most likely to need somewhere safe to flee to?β
Bad immigrants.
My @smh cartoon.
But we only consume Sky After Dark, so everything bad is because of The Greens, Labor and the Teals, so we'll keep voting for the Coalition.
What, they disintegrated? Oh, they didn't tell us that on Sky. Must've been the fault of The Greens, Labor and the Teals.
