6 years ago Iowa was on the verge of a National Title and instead we experienced the Hoiberg Sweats. 5 years ago Iowa won a National Title with a team that was less talented than the prior year. It was not a slow erosion but it is an unhealthy resistance to change.
The decline is cataclysmic but from what I see, the difference is the Iowa fans have self-awareness and are not claiming to be currently relevant.
