For #WorldBookDay a short poem and a pleasant memory of Clueless Clarence who is my autistic hero. This is still one of my favorite books even though I wrote it years ago.

So proud of my niece
@georgiewileman.bsky.social winning a BAFTA for 'This is Endometriosis'. As a tribute to the film and the award I have penned a short poem. Version 2 to correct small typo!
A few days ago I recommended that you watch a short film called this is endometriosis by my niece @georgiewileman.bsky.social . I am very proud to say that last night the film won a BAFTA for best short film so there is another good reason to watch it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q-u...
No new poem for me today but a strong recommendation that you look at a short film by the talented @georgiewileman.bsky.social called THIS IS ENDOMETRIOSIS which is a condition that affects a huge number of people

February is my favourite winter month, mainly as it is the last month of winter but as a romantic it is also the month of Valentines Day!
#NationalStorytellingWeek inspired a poem about a downside of library books and my favourite story teller - My Sister who wrote the lovely Humphreys Corner books. #SallyHunter

I really enjoyed watching Can You Keep a Secret? starring @dawnfrench.bsky.social. Now Dawn reading or staring in an adaption of one of my books would be good. She would be a great Hattie Frail!
January hasβ¦
A chance for a brand-new start.
Whatever has happened in the past⦠good or bad.
Youβve just got to follow your heart.
Make other people happy and you will be glad.

Welcome to 2026 and thanks to so many people on Blue Sky for some great posts in 2025, which stimulated my creative mind so much.
Those fireworks last night were spectacular so in honour I am positing an old poem that Les and I wrote way back in 2013.
Christmas wishes to you all and I hope that Santa brings you presents for being good this year!
Its that time of the year ...... Oh No it isn't.... Yes it is pantomime season in the UK. For non Brits Panto is based on fairy stories performed around Christmas and has a girl playing the leading man and a man playing an older lady with jokes for children and a bit of innuendo for the adults.
December hasβ¦
If weβre lucky a lot of snow,
Snowmen, sledges, and snowball fights galore.
Christmas tree lights are all aglow,
And carol singers knocking at your door.

Trevor Nelson on BBC Radio 2 was asking listeners for their favourite Stevie Wonder Song which gave me an excuse for a quick Stevie Wonder Poem and a vote for "Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday"
Anyone in the UK with young children knows what a double edged sword TV can be by encouraging learning and providing mental stimulation and of course fun but too much TV causes square eyes! This was written when my children were young.
November hasβ¦
Armistice, so put your hands in your pockets.
Also, sparklers, Catherine wheels and rockets.
Which light dark skies on each Guy Fawkes Day
Comfort your pets or keep them well away.
As some animals do fear the noise
But a lot of fun for girls and boys

Sara Cox is running her legs off with 5 marathons in 5 days for Children in Need. You can donate by visiting - donate.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/sara
Its Children in Need this Friday. For Non UK followers CIN is one of the biggest charity fundraisers in the year held over an entire evening on our biggest TV network - BBC One. Throughout the UK people like Sara Cox do amazing things to raise money for children related charities.
In the UK we have only just got over Halloween and along comes Bonfire Night when for US followers is when we celebrate, Guy Fawkes failed attempts in 1603 to blow up parliament, with bonfires and fireworks although we no longer burn an effigy of the Pope but of Guy Fawkes himself.
Halloween means a spooky mother and baby poem!
Appreciation of a painting is in the eye of the beholder especially if the artist is your child.
October hasβ¦
A sight to feast your eyes upon the trees,
The gorgeous colours never fail to please.
As leaves mutate from green to gold and brown,
And early autumn sends them tumbling down.

When I wrote this my children were quite young. 10 years later. I really appreciate the sentiments and yes they did stay as lovely as they were!
Da-da-da-da-da-da-daah bursting onto British TV's can only mean one thing - Strictly is back!
The long hot and wet summer is over and autumn seems to be here early so many parents will understand the story behind the poem called Long John Silver.
Some news about Hattie Frail coming very soon so watch my posts!
An old poem written by Les and myself years ago seemed suitable to celebrate National Teddy Bears Day.
I collaborated with the late Les Roberts on songs and musicals. Les wrote 'The Sea is Red' as his personal anthem to #autism and its lyrics remains one of my favourites.
@johnharris1969.bsky.social has got it totally right in the extract. Leaks from the Autumn White Paper show the UK Govt appears to be moving towards reduction of special needs support for future claimants at a time when it is even more needed than ever. maybeimamazed.substack.com/p/is-the-gov...
Radio 2 in the Park is now a British musical institution and this year is at Chelmsford in Essex with some great music. What more do I need to pen a quick poem?
