a blue graphic with an outline of the United States. Red and white text reads: Call. National Book Banning Bill Proposed in US House of Reps. Tell your rep: Vote no on H.R. 7661.
blue & red with white text: House Republicans have introduced a bill to grant the federal government decision-making power over what books make it into libraries. The "Stop the Sexualization of Children Act," H.R. 7661 is a national-level book banning bill that would ban any book that, according to the bill's language, "(ii) involves gender dysphoria or transgenderism." This means any book about a trans person or the trans experience would be banned from every public school in the United States.

I make an arbitrary list so I can go down it. You might also write a sentence about each and see which sentence feels the most fun?
Hot tip: If you want to get baked goods from On The Rise, try the morning after daylight savings. This morning was the first time since they won that "Best in the US" title that there was no line!
Aw. So glad.
I think it was something like, "Thank you for investing in your writing by being here." :)
Degas produced numerous wax sculptures during his lifetime that were cast in bronze shortly after his death. This late work continues his fascination with dancers and the physical sensation of the human body in motion. Marks made by artist's fingers are visible in the bronze surface.

Lovely time at Akron Book Fest, as always!
Sitting at a book fair table is possibly the most awkward thing an author will ever do, next to watch their parent read their rough draft?
The kind folks of the rubber city helped me through it!
Thank you. I feel very fortunate, Apex always has lovely covers!
Ah! My work is done.
Imposter syndrome is the mistaken belief that other people know wtf theyβre doing.

It was even worse. I remember, she was all "girls do well in school because you write all those gossipy notes"... like internalized misogyny much?
In second grade, our teacher had us make "books." I enjoyed the project so much I told her, "I know what I want to be when I grow up! I want to write books!"
She said, "Oh, sweetie. Girls do well writing in school, but it's boys who grow up to be writers."
...my career was born to spite her.
Wonderful! I hope you have a blast!
Oh dear that sounds rather up my alley. Will look for it.

One of the big lies told us by the oligarchs as they seek power is that "Businessmen aren't interested in war."
War has always been about business. Ideologies, politics, tribalism... all these things are excuses business uses to apply deadly force to market share.
