I hope you aren’t drunk and took your staff’s advice, Rashida and I don’t know this man and feel confident he didn’t care about us. Please restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for your self,
uhhh oh my god

I remind my students regularly to remember the immortal words of Monty Python any time we're talking about models, and it applies equally well to animal models: "It's only a model".

Full data published for orforglipron vs oral semaglutide in diabetics. Liver data looks good(which is the big concern with it's weird molecular shape) better A1c reduction is pretty clear. Tolerability slightly "worse" for orforglipron but otherwise another oral pill that just works!

Inspired by Lars I found this very recent publication, treat to target approach for obesity management. I feel like while some subjective measures remain, such as height & waist size, blood pressure this could honestly be a better way to measure GLP1 efficacy in both trials and clinics

it's fascinating to watch Costco lap every one of these clowns because they have the only CEO in America who still thinks his job is to run a company that does business and not be the main character of life forging his personal legacy with one eye on the group chat to see if they're impressed yet

It's not often in Pharma that you run a head to head trial against your major competition and legit just flat out lose.
Cagrisema 23.6% weight loss vs Tirzepatide 25.5% weight loss over 84 weeks.
This result is horrid for Novo Nordisk.

Good. Also, fuck the Department of Education for attempting to pull this bullshit in the first place, and fuck this whole racist, shitty administration. And fuck ICE, while I'm at it, because that's just an evergreen at this point.

And that's autoimmune disease #2 (plaque psoriasis) that improves with tirzepatide. The improvement is modest but apparently statistically significant and the trial was short, only 36 weeks so this is rapid improvement! A much longer trial is currently ongoing as well.

The conundrum of amylin/calcitonin agonists
When mechanisms of action collide in unexpected ways
This was an interesting one to write, dual Amylin-Calcitonin receptor agonists (see: CagriSema) are a hot topic in obesity these days, but they're actually a bit of a mixed bag for diabetes thanks to calcitonin. Read on to find out why!

Adam’s right. It’s more important than ever that our institutions defend First Amendment rights, and that means not firing teachers illegally whether their offense was “Go ICE” or saying something less than hagiographical about Charlie Kirk. Fewer people want to hear that in ugly times.

This is now a Dana fan account. Yeah, "Baby Jane Doe" was cute, but "Jag-off" and grabbing that guy's arm like he was trying to move her parking chair converted me fully.

The great actor Bud Cort has died. He was 77.
Did you see Harold and Maude? Harold was Bud Cort. Maude was Ruth Gordon and they played lovers.
He was in the movie Mash where he played Radar.
Cort suffere terrible burns on his face but I never stopped loving him and his work.

For our first real date, I took her to a little hole in the wall Italian place near campus (Pitt) and put "That's Amore" on the juke box. She's a gnocchi fiend, and we've been married for nearly 35 years, so I think I done good.

holy shit -- Bondi's new tactic is refusing to answer Democratic questions, then using time during the next Republican questioner to smear the previous Democratic member and accuse them of being complicit in violence crimes

Half an hour ago, Fox News hosted an "aviation expert" who argued such a closure wouldn't happen "unless we are at war" facing a "major security threat," and that it signaled the government "might have discovered the next potential Pearl Harbor."

In continuing the theme of GLP-1s are overpowered Mary Sue drugs, we have our first glimmer they may actually rebuild cartilage in knee osteoarthritis. This tracks with some real life anecdotes I've seen here and in clinic @eecklund.bsky.social @stresshoop.bsky.social
