Since 2014, we've collected a total of 7,167,514 pieces of litter! It may seem like the problem is getting worse every year, but is that true? More cleanups, more volunteers, a larger staff, and better targeting of more polluted areas for cleanups have all played a part in increasing our numbers. β
π Summer Recap! πβ

No pollutant has a more gleeful, Dr. Seussian name than the "nurdle." And we spill a lot of them, as BloombergNEF wrote on Friday ($), in an update about companies fined for doing so:
"It takes 600 nurdles to make one small plastic bottle.
Over 11 trillion are estimated to enter oceans each
year."
