Turns out Brexit Derangement Syndrome is a thing after all.
Turns out Brexit Derangement Syndrome is a thing after all.
There's no placating the Brexiters, no reasoning with them, no basic comprehension or adulthood. You can't debate papers behaving like the Sun or the Mail this morning. There's nothing to debate with. They view all trading relations with Europe as humiliation.

Well said Donald Tusk. If only more of our own politicians were of his calibre, had his political judgement and sense. Dreams do come true, especially if enough people campaign for them.
Sounds like a plan
Wish someone would have said something.... Oh wait! #rejoineu
π£ The mediaβs dangerous embrace of Farage: a critical look at BBCβs Question Time
The BBCβs platforming of Nigel Farage on Question Time promotes divisive and misleading rhetoric, distorting the debate on immigration

So completely incompetent, and very much a stodgy dullwit!
π¨π¨ @jonhenley.bsky.social & @peterwalker99.bsky.social has a very good report on how Europe-wide polling by @ecfr.bsky.social finds UK & EU leaders out of step with public opinion and should pursue βambitious resetβ. π§΅

Voters believe our economic future lies with the EU rather than with president Trump
Publish the Russia report, in full, now.
And that's where the massive issue lies. He can influence electoral outcomes without spending a penny, just by using his weapon of propaganda. Electoral laws, even if up to scratch, can't really protect from that.
βTaking Britain out of the Erasmus+ programme was a huge mistake. Labour must rejoin and accept the EUβs offer of a youth mobility schemeβπ
Our youth have been robbed of the freedom of movement we enjoyed - this is the absolute least the Govβt can do for them

Alastair Campbell ripping Farage a new one with the truth about Brexit on #bbcqt which, admittedly, felt like a fever dream remake of Years and Years.

π¨π¨ Major #brexit news: Sir Keir Starmer will be invited to meet EU leaders to discuss European security as Brussels seeks closer ties with the UK, in a significant post-Brexit move. No British PM has attended such a gathering since the country left the bloc in 2020.π§΅

The liars, of course, have all moved on to new cons & deceptions. The fishing industry can't. A vaguely honest media would be holding Farage & the rest to account for this instead of promoting a meaningless petition...

The EUβs new GPSR system launches on 13 Dec, making it even harder for UK firms exporting to EU with vastly more red tape and costs, even for those selling to NI
Incredibly but predictably the biggest moaners about this are the people who supported #Brexit

Haven't really been following the EU General Product Safety Regulation implementation but this looks like another example of small businesses being regulated out of international trade competitiveness, with particular impact on Northern Ireland.

A new starter pack, reflecting the influx of new arrivals here. The 150 limit means that some who were in my previous pack have been bumped off (sorry - but the previous list is still available) & also that there's still no room some who messaged to ask to be included.
