Goddamn this fucks so hard. Is this based on a model kit? It looks a lot like one of my favorites.

Newest commission wrapped up. Really really love how this one turned out, I would very much like to do a lot more work with these kinda tropical vibes and Ghibli clouds.
I've got this fully cut together and it looks SO GREAT. Gotta sort out the sound design and typography still.
Holy shit I was not previously aware of this but now I am obsessed with it.

This was my first time shooting on 500T stock and it is SO GRAINY (complimentary) - I love how much modern super 8 film grain makes me think of the old 16mm stocks used to shoot the 70s tokusatsu shows that are some of my biggest influences.
The footage for our new Super 8mm short QUINACRIDONE returned from the lab yesterday and it looks SO GOOD, Y'ALL.
I also dodged this bullet and I am very thankful for where I am now despite the hardships.
I have been feeling antsy doing so much fanart lately but ALSO struggling to get some of my original work out of the sketch phase so as a fun lil break from both I did this deeply goofy sketch of Ash's [ @ashleyloob.bsky.social ] Pizza Rat OC.
Moving away from car-centric infrastructure does not mean cars will no longer be of any use whatsoever, nor does trying to refocus urban living away from car use mean that rural areas won't be allowed to have cars where appropriate. Be serious.
Yeah, when Ultraman Retsuden was announced back in 2012 or 2013 we were like OOOOOO are we getting an anthology show about new adventures of past Ultras??
It was not that. ๐
No so they've been doing this for like the last 10 years. Half the year is a recap show that occasionally throws in super cheap new footage for like 45 seconds, then the other half the year is the actual mainline show. Basically just so they can keep the same timeslot throughout the year.
It was a struggle cuz I wanted to avoid gray by any means necessary but also I wanted to be judicious with the blues so he wouldn't blend in with the colors of the sky. Happy with the result, so happy folks are digging it!!
Thanks!! The client wanted a predominantly blue color scheme so I pitched a tropical environment to reflect the face-off in Okinawa.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much!!
Thank you!!

(The Godzilla in this particular quartet was a commission, the rest are in the shop.)
Added several ink sketches to the shop. ko-fi.com/xenofauna/shop
He had a lot of respect for Godzilla. So much so that when they brought him back for Godzilla 1985, he did it under the condition that the localizers would take the film seriously instead of turning it into a comedy film as initially planned.
NEXT WEEKEND!! I'll be vending at @charliescollectibleshow.com all day on the 7th and 8th and then the evening of the 7th I will be at the opening reception for Empire Arts Gallery's latest show, ANT|EROS, where I will have new art on display!

I definitely think you're right. Dougherty apparently even says in the commentary that he genuinely believes the Chernobyl disaster was a win for nature. Real edgelord deep thought nonsense.
I nearly walked out of the theater multiple times I hated it so much. I only stayed cuz I knew people were gonna keep asking me what I thought of it.
That first trailer was ART. But literally every worthwhile bit of the movie was in it.
Nah, KotM is a fully pro-nuclear film and it sucks, to say nothing of the level of nuclear whitewashing the DoD already worked into the 2014 movie.
Every Godzilla movie from 2014 onward has had a weirdly conservative bent to some degree or another. Between that and the visuals being overtaken by CG I'm pretty checked out of the franchise these days despite being kinda Stockholm Syndrome'd into watching each new entry anyway.
Sion Sono is still difficult to deal with for me.
