I’m glad this works for you! I’ve thought about just using the Libby app on my phone but I really love the separation that a book/kobo can give me.
It removes the barrier to entry, the “I can only start when I have (insert item)”. That thought process can be a real killer and rather than just starting, you’re delaying or basing your outcome on a purchase.
Anyway, those are my thoughts and it works for me ♥️
It then ends up as a reward rather than a novelty and who knows, maybe I’m happy without the kobo and will keep reading paperbacks.
I understand leaning into momentum but for me, consistency first then a purchase. I’ve done this in other areas of my life and it’s been fantastic
On consumption: I think if you have a goal to achieve or a habit you’d like to change, it shouldn’t require buying something new straight away.
I want to get back into reading but before I buy a kobo, I’m making sure I read 4 books in 2 months to ensure I’m back in the habit.
