Well, it was all amazing, but also Ian McKellan provided one of the most staggering performances I've ever seen, and was kind enough to wait around chatting to all the adoring theatre kids of Trans Voices, and I don't really have words for that except what an extraordinary human being in every way

I can heartily recommend Bird Grove at Hampstead Theatre for the remainder of its short run (closes 21 March). A touching portrayal of the young George Eliot at a crossroads in her life. That rare thing: a literary play that balances philosophy, emotion and just the right touch of comedy. Go see.

If you are an author or editor at *ANY* level -- from beginner to jaded old veteran like me, click through to the article Todd's posting about, take 2 minutes, and email them to let them know you opt out. Will save us all time having to mount yet a 577th class-action suit down the road.

Black and white cat asleep in a box slightly too small for him. He is all squished up and the sides of the box are bulging out. He does not mind; he is sound asleep.

They have a strange look.
I think that terrible things may happen.

Hey cis allies: could you do us trans folks a favor? The next time you hear someone talk "mutilating surgeries on kids" as a talking point about trans health care- please- loudly call that shit out.
Trans minors almost never receive gender affirming surgeries, and for the most part, never have. 🧡

(All that was missing were the mall goths. Where are the worn out strappy trousers of yesteryear??)

It felt strangely teenage to be wandering through a shopping mall and actually enjoying it. Livat mall in Hammersmith is nicely designed, has things like public seating which people were actually using. To a GenX city kid, it's nice to see the age-old pastime of hanging out at the mall endures.

Spent far to much of today Sorting Out The Broadband. A series of happenstances took me as far as the o2 shop in the Hammersmith King Street mall, where I met possibly the most competent phoneperson in the world. Fully expect her to be CEO in six months. New broadband/phone contract achieved!

No but also yes. 4 hand playing is physically closer than most unmarried adults were permitted to be at the time.

β€œWe are forced to stay despite the danger, when we defend our land, and we do so peacefully. None of us carries weapons. All of us carry peace and goodness and love.”

These were the words of Father Pierre al-Rahi one day before Israel killed him in Lebanon today on March 9.

weird how the mass risings stop when the streets are being bombed and the skies have darkened with toxic smoke because some fascist across the world wanted some people to die so he could get hard

I’m a nurse and I do gender affirming care. I take care of women in their 60s and 70s who tell me their life stories, many with tremendous fallout in jobs, families, etc when they were finally able to transition as older adults. early transition saves lives & so, so much heartache & suffering

Medical transition for trans kids is now banned for new referrals on the NHS. Trans kids in the UK can still go private or DIY (for now).

This means the new clinics that replaced GIDS are close to useless at best, conversion therapy at worst. 1/5

I did find that it wrapped the story up in a satisfying way. But I’m eager to know what you think when you finish it.

But what can I do – Dr Ruth Pearce Posts about But what can I do written by Ruth

There are two things you can do right now to support young trans people in England.

1) Engage in political advocacy and community support. I've got *loads* of advice on this in my blog post and zine "But what can I do? How to fight the trans panic".
