That's very sad!
Oh Ed. Disappointing to see you've drunk the populist Kool-Aid too.
Even worse, the Iranians are not sticking to the plan that Trump didn't have.
Fascinating and massive news on Alzheimer's, with persuasive evidence that the disease starts in the body and then moves to the brain

A reminder that the Tories and Reform want us to join an illegal war that not even the US President can defend
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.
1/ Here's what I can share:
Is daydreaming a vanishing practice? On the train, just a few over 40s staring out of the window, conjuring creative connections from a mind allowed to roam free. Everyone under 40 staring at phones. Are we losing an unsung but vital part of human creativity? I love a good daydreaming session.
A large group of short delicate purple flowers with yellow centers and grass like green stalks huddles tightly together among brown wood chips. Their petals reach up as if trying to cup the sunlight shining down on them.
After a long week of dreary weather, I've been reaching for the sunlight the past couple of days myself.

Financial Times brutal on Trump:
"We can safely assume that Iranβs pain threshold is higher than his. Trump will nevertheless present his exit as a victory. Iran will have every incentive to ensure nobody believes him...the crux of his self-inflicted dilemma".

Women havenβt always had equal space in learned societies, yet most of our staff are women. For #IWD2026, we celebrate the colleagues who help make the Society what it is today. We invited them to reflect on this year's theme of justice and action and the barriers women still face: buff.ly/oY03aSN

A willow tree with its new spring leaves of greenish gold
Just got to love the willow, putting out its golden-green leaves so early in the season when most other trees are still bare and wintry
Sounds lovely! π«
Awful news about Glasgow Central, I'm still hoping the station itself escaped serious damage.
But while we're here, can anyone spot the problem with the news photo below, from thetraveler.org/glasgow-cent...?
We've really got to STOP using AI to fake things.
I'm usually a ridiculous optimist but I have this queasy feeling that Trump's such a narcissist that he cannot bear the idea of the world going on without him after he's gone. So he's going to do his best to salt the earth as he goes. Hence starting an illegal war that no-one knows how it'll end.

I meant, I suspected as much, but you've just confirmed it!
I knew it!

Apparently innocent looking robot vacuum cleaner with the note: Dear Guests, Our robots do not support remote viewing or recording function. Sincerely Hotel management
Interesting, if slightly disturbing, note on the robot vacuum cleaner in hotel bedroom.

"The public consultation on the BBC Charter renewal closes next week.
All those who care about the BBCβs future should hurry and send in their response before 10 March.
Battalions of enemies driven by the right will be out in force to undermine it"
