A cautionary tale from the halls of higher education that might be worth sharing with your students as it makes a strong case for, well, LEARNING instead of using AI

YES!
Thank you so much for tuning in from the other side of the world β€οΈ Glad you enjoyed it, and hope I get to hear about Aussie TL life too! Enjoy your much deserved rest π·π΄
From fan girl to guest β€οΈ Everything I learned about being a better TL this year came from Amy's show and her guests. To get to be one this time was an honour. Please have a listen (to any episode, really - but if you are interested in hearing about my TL experience, I'm on episode #315) #TLSky
For the record: we were chatting my timetable, so that's what I'm looking at on my wall in this clip π€£
I stepped out of my comfort zone and recorded a podcast episode w/Amy Hermon of @slupodcast.bsky.social - we chatted US-Canada relations, teaching in Canada and TL life β€οΈ It airs tomorrow #Librarian #TLSky #Skybrarians
Oh this is exciting!!! I hope US teachers find the Canadian perspective helpful β€οΈ
If you are standing up for libraries, you are standing up for one of the most beloved institutions in America. If you are standing up for the right to read you are not standing alone. Quite the opposite! Read more in this study from the ALA.
Ummm excuse me, but no!
Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.
Ooof that is weirder. Surprised the Constitution hasn't been updated to reflect the change in times, to protect voter privacy. Seems that it's rather "socialist" (to keep track of party registration), which is a common criticism of Canada from some US citizens and politicians π€¦π»ββοΈ
I *think* it's like here in Canada where you can register for party membership, which gives you the right to vote in the leadership race, such as recently to determine who would take over the Liberal Party after Trudeau stepped down. But for the general election, anyone can vote.

Any idea if it will be made available in Canada on the same streaming services??
A picture of the bracket for Silver Birch Past Winners Showdown. Two book covers are featured: OCDaniel by Wesley King vs. Masterminds by Gordan Korman. There is an empty spot for the winner, who will be named "Book of the Year"
A twist on the #ForestOfReading Silver Birch club π Library Crew students selected 16 past winners for a Battle of the Books competition. Our top two contenders were just announced. Best of luck to #OCDaniel and #Masterminds - only one will be named "Book of the Year" β€οΈ #TLSky #schoollibrarian
It's Dolores Umbridge!
Love @halseanderson.bsky.social books. "Speak" was one of the first novels I read that stuck with me for years after. Can't wait for her newest release β€οΈ
This needs to be taught as a new form of media literacy #TLSky #MediaLiteracy #Skybrarian
Cover of a book titled "More Tales for the Midnight Hour" by JB Stamper
First page of a short story called "The Collector"
2/2 They clamoured to know the title, but all I could recall was a boy who collected moths, w/a chilling end. By miracle of teenage ingenuity, a student found the story 2nd hand online + got it for me! Yes, I read it to them. Yes, it was still as scary!!
What's your Lost Title story? #TlSky
Lost Titles: A Story
When I was about 10 years old, I read a scary short story in the library, and thus my irrational fear of moths was born. I couldn't remember the title for decades. Fast forward to teaching Grade 8 ELA in 2018, when I share my fear origin story with my students...

My talented, knowledgeable and supportive AQ instructor (Teacher Librarian, Specialist), Diana Maliszewski, won the Angela Thacker Memorial Award! So cool, and much deserved!
Teachers and librarians will lead the resistance. Wish I could hug this hero, and tell her she is brave!
Thank you, Heather. The gif is hilarious. And filled out the form to be added to "the list" π
Adding your podcast to my morning commute listen! Thank you! β€οΈ
Thank you! How do I join a chat? Sounds fun!
Hi, fellow Ontarian! Whereabouts are you in the province? I'm in Toronto. And thank you for the guide! β€οΈ
Thank you! This is super helpful. Such a learning curve but fun exploring.
