Heck, even Coach K was deposed in this case. Everybody wanted to see Coach K testify. The entire civil case was an hourly money machine for dozens of lawyers - me included.

The criminal defense attorneys claimed to have performed some great Clarence Darrow examination of Meehan. The information was handed to them on a silver platter. They didn't even understand how DNA labs operate. It was comical the self grandiose they presented themselves.

These three young me were wronged but it was Brian Meehan's DNA lab report that set them free.

It was Nifong who refused to drop the charges after Meehan's report was released.

The three accused players did NOT have any DNA found in Crystal Mangum's rape kit.

Unidentified DNA meant DNA from other unknown individuals (not Duke lacrosse players) were in Crystal Mangum's rape kit.

The fact that unidentified DNA was found AND in Meehans report was so obvious that the three accused player's defense counsel held a press conference the day it was released to shout about the unidentified DNA.

Nifong and Meehan agreed that the test results themselves would not be part of Meehan's test. But the fact that unknown DNA was found in Crystal Mangum's rape kit WAS included in Meehan's report.

Meehan met with the Durham County DA Mike Nifong to be hired to conduct DNA tests on every Duke lacrosse player - every player except the African American players.
