SNAP fights hunger in Maryland, helping 693K+ people & bringing $1.4B to the state. With 10.4% of households facing food insecurity, we can’t afford cuts. In 2023 alone, it fed 216K+ kids & pumped $1.9B into local businesses. Congress, #ProtectSNAP!
The latest blow, announced last week, is a $500M reduction, approximately 15%, of the USDA’s The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). For the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, that amounts to around $120,000 annually in food we won’t be getting, starting this summer.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will be closed Thursday and Friday to spend the holiday with our loved ones, but we have a lot to be thankful for. Your donations allowed us to provide 3,721 turkeys to our neighbors across the county. That's an 87% increase from last year!

Something else you can do to support your local food pantry (which doesn't require any money) is telling your representatives that you oppose the proposed FARM Bill in the US House of Representatives that would cut SNAP by $30 billion over 10 years.

This is all absolutely true, but food drives and volunteering are also important ways to support your local food bank. Last year, about 1/3 of the food we distributed was donated, which makes a big difference!
