You have to be very short on empathy not to think everyone deserves a level playing field in life. If health, education, clean water, sanitation, basic food and shelter are not automatic rights, free to all, then we haven't evolved at all. Socialism does not stop competition, it just makes it fair.
What I like about being an athiest is that I make my own decisions, I consider who they will affect and how, I am fair and compassionate while still being ambitious. British exports to the US have fallen by over 10% already. Those exporters will have to find new markets, and they will. Bit by bit, the USA is getting excluded from trade. Not 'tariffs', they should be called the 'Trump stupidity tax'
