And this extends beyond academics. Tons of people facing a reckoning and figuring out how to reposition or even reimagine their work. On good days I feel really optimistic and ambitious. On bad days, it's more than a wee bit scary.

Also true!
I misplaced the quotation mark there, but I hope my point is clear
Example: If I tell Claude to "write me an article about the Sounders, the result is gonna be laughable." Which is why it shouldn't be used like that. Using it is a skill in and of itself.
There are lots of ways to use AI to write poorly. It doesn't necessarily mean the technology is bad. It's about how it's used and what it's used for.
It's akin to driving a car, in a way. Lotta shitty drivers out there. Not the car's fault, ya know?
Your experience is very different than mine. This probably comes down to how people are using it to write and/or what they're writing about. Lots of people misunderstand AI's role in writing. Writing is also a small fraction of what AI can do.
One of those things that's sad but also totally understandable. It wasn't working.
It's such a hilarious lack of self-awareness to announce this and expect people to have a reaction that isn't "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, shithead"
If any team needs a forward to not score goals, she'd be a great option
Not this. Dismissing AI tools as "bumbling intern" level just isn't accurate. They're having a massive impact on workflows across virtually every industry that involves typing on a keyboard. Saying otherwise indicates either a misunderstanding or simple denial. It's also being unkind to interns lol.
I am celebrating Monica Bellucci today
I wasn’t aware you were allowed to submit multiple proposals in the same calendar month!
And Beach has two of them!
I’ve enjoyed *at least* 25 seconds of this Sounders game
I would like the sounders to win
Getting tired of watching teams target Trinity Rodman’s back as a defensive tactic
Congrats!

I was unaware of her excellence but now I am very aware
Yeah Jess uses one of those sometimes and I know myself well enough to never touch that fucking thing
@ahandleforian.bsky.social I keep telling you to never chase reality but do you listen? No.
It’s a refreshing change from GoT. You need zero GoT knowledge. I liked it *because* it was different from the main show’s vibe
Yep. This is fantastic. Seattle-Portland needs an injection of this to make the rivalry feel important again.
I am, admittedly, a very old person, but I miss the days of being like “oh the game is on channel 5,” and then turning on the tv and flipping to channel 5 and watching the game
I am going to become one of those longevity influencer tech dudes just to increase the likelihood that I live to see the Sounders play with someone other than Nouhou at left back
I'm not a branding genius but I would have called it something crazy like the Sounders FC Foundation or something and would have put in a soccer field.
The Sounders started a foundation years ago but didn’t put their name in the name of the foundation and then had this foundation put in a basketball court near my house. Weird.
I'll give it a go.
I am at the park with my son, overhearing some tech worker parents stressing about finding AI-proof jobs and wondering if they have enough money to buy a cheese company in Bow-Edison.
