I sometimes worry that too many people think being a good critic means being a self-righteous dick about every little thing and I think far too many miss the point that you can't critique anything if you don't know how to love something.

I think this is the danger of telling any story with any hint of subtlety. These same people will idolize Patrick Bateman and think Homelander is the protagonist. Walter White is clearly not someone to be admired. He ultimately fails at everything and is mostly a wannabe tough guy who loses it all.
