I'd say it's somewhat better, yes.
I usually look at the quality of fabric as opposed if it’s thick or thin. I usually choose shirts that’re softer, as opposed to say a gildan shirt where, whilst cheaper per unit, is a lot rougher than some shirts I own.
But as for thickness I do go for thicker cuz of durabilitu, rather than thin.
