the most evil thing we writers sometimes do is describe our books in such a way that makes people go "ohhh that sounds cool and fun!" and while it probably is very cool and very fun, it's also a secret third thing, heart shattering

Big, somewhat leftfield news: I am kicking off a podcast with the wonderful @emmanewman.bsky.social under the title Starship Alexandria. It's a cosy book and film recommendation show where we take it in turns to rec things to one another and discuss them.

Current book is 1st person and I’m playing with some aspects of the form and implications I’ve not looked at before. Narrator very willing to just make stuff up about things he didn’t personally see.
