We were lucky enough to have some high school pupils visit us along with their Spanish teacher 🇪🇸 she taught us all about the Spanish Carnivale as well as some tricky Spanish vocabulary!
We looked at different examples of sources from WW2. We had to decided if they were primary or secondary. 🧐
We completed our own research into air raid shelters to help us with our homework task. We used the internet as well as nonfiction books to help us 📚
PC Marc Stirling visited Primary 7 to talk to us about staying safe online. He discussed the dangers of large chat groups as we transition to high school 📱
Working with a partner to improve our reading fluency 👍🏻 a little reading everyday builds our confidence 📚
Well done to all of the P7 pupils who took part in our Air Raid Shelter competition! It was very difficult to choose a winner! It was clear to see all of the hard work and effort that had gone into each shelter! 👏🏻🤩🏅

A busy day today for our Future Me focus week! We visited a fantastic careers fair where we were able to ask adults about a range of careers! We also had a visit from Lorna from Forth Valley college and tested our literacy skills as travel agents! 😄🧑🔬👨💼👩💻

This year we are having a whole school ‘future me’ focus. We were challenged to fill an a-z of possible careers before using an online survey to find out which animal we are! 🦁🐬🐼
We started the year by forming our own book club groups 📚we looked at the front cover and blurb before deciding which novel we would like to read this term!
This morning we revised our Science topic of chemical reactions and why burning is an example of this 🔥 we then toasted our own marshmallows 😋
Working on our news reporting skills- creating catchy headlines and including all of the important information 🗞️we wrote about the fantastic p1 Nativity and our own Strictly event 📰

We have been working on our measuring skills this week in Numeracy 📏 today we estimated the length of different objects then measured them with rulers and measuring tapes 👍🏻
Mrs Parsons from Denny High School shared lots of information with us on Tuesday! She showed us an example of a timetable and an interactive map of the school! We had lots of questions for her to answer too 🤔
Continuing with our science topic today in p7 🧪🧑🔬 we were testing different liquids to find out their ph levels. We then created our own ph indicator using red cabbage! 🥬
We continued our science topic with a fun experiment with water today! We discussed the water cycle and the importance of conserving water before we grew some rainbows 🌈
Our 3rd visit from Denny High Staff this week was a very exciting lesson from Miss Dawson from the Modern Languages department. She taught us all about Spanish colours and the Day of the Dead 🇪🇸
We were joined by Mrs Reid for the final time during maths today where she helped us with a very competitive game of First to 40! We showed an excellent knowledge of our times table facts! Well done 👏🏻
We continued our learning about water today through investigating filtration- first we had to create our own dirty water than test out the different materials to find out which was he most effective at cleaning water 🚿
This morning we arrived at school to find our stick insects had been kidnapped! We had to follow the clues to get them back 🕵️♂️ this was the start of our learning around a new model text- kidnapped!
Today we started our new science topic- physical and chemical changes. We focused on water, the water cycle and how vital water is for all living things. We then created a water cycle in a bag 💦🌊💧🐳
We spent our afternoon finding out about Black History month- we discussed what it means to be a powerful person before researching the life of Martin Luther King jr. We then looked at images from the Notting Hill Carnival and designed our own fabulous costumes! 🎭
