Apparently 'heretics' is not a correct answer to the question 'what burns well?' on a fire safety course.

This is their response to the recent by-election loss? To pander to dimwitted racists some more?

The Minoan Bull Leaper fresco from Knossos with two Minoan Tarot cards, each of which depicts a part of the fresco. The fresco shows a large tan-and-white spotted longhorn bull galloping toward the left while three athletes in loincloths and boots perform bull leaping. A white-skinned athlete on the left hangs on the bull's horns. A red-skinned athlete in the center balances upside down on the bull's back. A white-skinned athlete on the right stands facing the bull with arms out, as if they have just landed from a leap. The Minoan Tarot card on the left, 8 Strength, shows the athlete hanging from the bull's horns. The card on the right, 14 Balance, shows the athlete balancing on the bull's back. Both the fresco and the cards have a detailed multicolor border all the way around.

Every card in my Minoan Tarot deck was inspired by a Minoan artifact or work of art. In this case, a single work of art - the Bull Leaper fresco - inspired two Major Arcana cards. I made this deck the old-fashioned way, with ink on paper.

Out of consideration for Labour centrists, you know, give them something to mock and attack. God forbid that they expend any energy taking on the Tories and Reform, can't be having that now, can we? It's very kind of him, really.

Ah, those are usually the best. Beats formulaic writing at any rate.

Intriguing. What is the super niche about?

A hopeless project from a marketing perspective. The story doesn't feature Henry VIII's codpiece, any of his unfortunate wives, or a Tudor princess. That is all the public wants it seems.

I think fantasy writers far exceed my word counts, lol. Historical fantasy is a different cup of tea, lotta research, much history, bit of fantasy thrown in. Oh and a phantom ship which some foolish folk claim is make-belief.

The first book (out in '22) was a little over 120k. Second one's first draft is currently 140k with another projected 30k to go. Rough projection for all three is about 440k - 450k I reckon.

It is easier when it is just a novella, currently though, a trilogy (historical fantasy) with lots of layers, so consistency is...pfff...but that can always clear up a lot in the editing. The editing usually takes me far longer than writing the first draft.

For me, if I do a plot then I have told the story already. Next. But I think everyone will have a system/approach that works well for them.

25.02.2026 17:12 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I do that, but do not see the entire story, I have the beginning and I know how I want it to end. The story follows its own flow, and you just nudge it to keep on course to that end. If I outline I lose interest.

If they've got images of some sort of royal on them then they're mine, the notes that is, not the royals. Anyhow, glad somebody found them as I was getting worried about having lost them. Post them over and I'll send you 50p as a thank you.

This is going to cost them a lot of what remained of their support in the UK. Summary execution of lefties on the streets in broad daylight? Mwah. KICKING A DOG! That's beyond the pale, that is.

Yarr, I took at least two minutes of me precious time selecting a fitting Gif rather than selecting a random offering. Tis the perfectionist in me.

For many the right to work from home on at least a part-time basis is a legal right under the Equality Act, but I suppose such woke nonsense won't survive long under a Reform government. F*ck the workers, vote Farage.

A paperback copy of Pantheon: The Minoans by Laura Perry stands in front of the Dolphin fresco from Knossos. The fresco also features on the book cover. To the left of the boom is text that reads, "Journey through the Labyrinth to meet the Minoan deities of ancient Crete, who are still very much alive in the modern world." Below the text is the URL of Laura's website: Laura Perry Author dot com.

This is my most comprehensive book about inclusive Minoan spirituality. I'm delighted to be a part of the Moon Books Pantheons series!

Yeah, good thing folk voted for change, an end to the sleazy psycho-dramas as promised by Star....wait, is that Mandelson in his undies with an underage girl? Change my arse, same old same old. Same scumbags.

Centrist demi-god Mandelson in his undies with an underage female from the Epstein files. Can't wait for the centrists to stick to their guns and spin some new BS about their hero....but, they've been awfully quiet about this so far.

Couple of years ago this place was crawling with Starmtrooper centrists defending Peter Mandelson tooth and nail against us loony lefties. Can't wait for these folk to demonstrate their consistency and middle-class suburban wisdom now by commenting on recent news involving their hero.
