Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning:

If this were true, then tell us why Israel couldn't make the U.S. go to war when Joe Biden was president, or Barak Obama, or George Bush, or any other president since 1979.

The way to do that is to go ahead and say what happened - but they aren't talking. So, in the absence of any statement by the DoD, the reporting is taking the lead.
