Last night she took a sudden turn for the worse, and given the evidence, we decided that the best thing we could do for her would be to allow her to pass peacefully.

Yuuri update...

Well... it wasn't going as well as what we thought it was.. she lost another 300g bringing her down to 2.7kg

So, we have new meds, and four weeks to fatten her up. If shes not showing improvement by then, then unfortunately some hard decisions will need to be made.

Sleeping baby... rest is important for recovery...

It seems no matter how sick we are, some things don't change...

So an update I guess? We are still being tube fed, and we still have no interest in actually eating, and we still spew at least once a day.

However, we think its more from the tube irritating her, than her actually being sick.

Update! She's doing so much better since she came home yesterday. There had been no drooling, and we've even had lap cuddles and purring!

She will have the OG tube in for probably the next 8 weeks, so not quite out of the woods yet.

It just cost me $6000 to save my cat. I don't expect to raise the full amount, but if by some miracle I do, I will be eternally grateful for everyone's support and the kindness of strangers.

Yuuri update - she survived surgery to insert an E/OG feeding tube so that she can be fed through that.

They found bacteria in her kidneys so they're doing a culture on that to find out if that's the cause of or the result of all this drama.

Either way, she is coming home tomorrow.

Yuuri update - she has a super inflamed liver, which can be caused by not eating and rapid weightloss; so they don't know which one happened first. But there are no tumours or tumour adjacent masses anywhere.

So all she really has to do now is eat - if she doesnt then it's an NG or OG tube.

The only good thing is that she's at the actual vet hospital - which is attached to the university. So there are "experts" in every imaginable field... she is literally getting the best care...

But fuck me am I paying for the privilege.

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so expensive. Like I get it, they're pets and they dont get universal healthcare... but when you start quoting ten grand that I don't have, I'm not just upset that I can't save my cat, I'm now doubly upset that it's now directly my fault.
