To be clear: baseball season never ended. Thanks to all the great winter leagues, thereβs been baseball to watch almost every single day since the World Series ended β trust me, Iβve watched as much of it as possible!!
But now, MLB is up! And the WBC!!

Wow!!! It must be wild to teach history classes *right now*.
Weβve had our moments in Science this year: Natural Resources including rare earth elements in Greenland & Ukraine; Ss researching NOAA & NASA climate pages (oops some gone!)
"I've heard his music obviously, but I don't speak Spanish so I'm not a big fan," said one NFC defensive player. "But I do think it's cool to have him, because America is based on diversity. America was built on immigration. So I feel like having him just furthers that American dream. I like it. I like the choice."
Ok I was sent a different quote image from that article. Youβre right - better to have the original image of the other quote but at least it is still in the article itself. Good timing for your unit! π΅π·
Let me check. I think a colleague sent me that quoteπ€
This looks so good! Thanks for sharing. Perfect to save leftovers for lunch at school the next day. Looks like it would reheat well. Mmmm
I love these explanations. These are super helpful for my students!
Congratulations! π
I just read this transcript today & thought Ohhhhh, this could maybe work for what @heymrsbond.com was looking for. What a speech!
Infographic titled "What causes an aurora's colors?" It explains that solar wind particles follow Earthβs magnetic field to the poles, where they excite atmospheric atoms that emit light as they relax. Red light occurs above 150 miles from oxygen. Green light appears between 60 and 150 miles from oxygen. Blue and purple occur below 60 miles from nitrogen. Yellow and pink are color mixes. A map shows auroral zones expanding during solar storms.
Did you spot the aurora earlier this week?
This timely edition of #PeriodicGraphics in @cenmag.bsky.social looks at what causes the aurora and the science behind the different colours: cen.acs.org/environment/...

Night sky with stars. Mostly clear blue, but faint purple bottom right. Some thin clouds near bottom. Trees lit up by porch light, some snow-covered.
Very faint #aurora in E Massachusetts ~6:30pm. Nothing since, but might be low on horizon here.
Love that you offered a choice of either leading a class discussion or an interactive class activity. Lots of options there!

Thank you so much for these wonderful posts! I took a fantastic teacher professional development course at this museum a few summers ago & they talked about this marathon. Iβll have to go one of these years. π
Thank you! My students love making their names on this website.
Science teachers, are you following along with this research expedition to the Thwaites Glacier, Antarctica? π¦πΆ
Excited to show my classes next week & grateful for these videos!
Wait what?! (Looking it up now.) π
Isnβt it wild to read the answers? Suddenly, perfect spelling & grammar. Capitalizing the first letter of the sentence for the first time all year! π
It is so rough out here.
Gr 8-same. Luckily, in Science, we had not made the switch once 1-1 started. Kept to mostly journals (observations/note-taking/sketches) & paper for lab work. When we do work on a doc, they google the question & copy/paste the AI summary as their answer. π€¦ββοΈ
