Yesterday, I finished up conducting 79 performances (since mid-August) of “Avatar: the Last Airbender” live in concert. This tour changed my life and I am so grateful to have been a part of it 🌀🌊🌎🔥

I didn't get any pictures at the venues. There was no photo of all of us in our concert dresses. There's no record of me even being a part of this. And I am in my FEELINGS about it.
Other musician friends, how have you coped with type of devastated feeling before?
Real terror is deciding if you want to sound like a local (which you were for 23 years) or a tourist (which you are now) when pronouncing "bag tag" at the MSP airport.
I'm not at all negating the work of folks who have completed that coursework. Of COURSE you've earned your accolades. No one can or should take them away from you. BUT, not all of us have the resources/time to give up EVERYTHING for a degree like that. Shouldn't we be allowed at least SOME security?
Can someone please explain to me why the barrier to health insurance at a university teaching job is a terminal degree and not if you're a good teacher? Explain it to me like I'm five years old how and why that one extra piece of paper is SUCH a gatekeeper. I'm listening to understand.
