Congratulations- not necessarily an education book, but a great leadership book is βStart with whyβ by Simon Sinek. Great for getting your vision right and holding onto it.
Watching #Ambulance on BBC 1 tonight, this episode showed on one shift there was one - yes ONE - advanced paramedic on duty for an entire 12 hr shift across the WHOLE of London. 9 million people. I appreciate other ambulance crews were available, but only 1 with advanced skills!
Love your show Chris - always listen on the commute to work. Have listened to you since you were on the old station, missed you when you werenβt on radio. Then loved it once I found out you were going to be on Radio X. Keep doing what youβre doing ππ»
They were such an asset. Really helped make a difference, when placed in the appropriate areas, funded properly and staff with the right professionals.
Iβve been saying this for a long time now - the issues over attendance issues are not purely a school issue. So sad that we are not learning lessons from what has worked in the past. A great article that explains what was done previously to improve attendance.
I had hoped we were now beyond the constant churn of Ed SoS!
I think we just have to let Reform run councils, realise they canβt do most of what they promised, and itβs in fact really difficult, and prove how ineffective they really are as a political party. Unfortunately, children, adults, roads and bin collections will suffer in the meantime.
Not that I do it for a badge and certificate- but glad I can do a small thing to help others in times of need. π©Έπ
All mainstream seem to boil it down to toilets. Iβm not transphobe, but I donβt agree that biological males who transition should be competing in womenβs sports, placed in a female prison or put on female ward in hospital for example. Which toilet cubicle they go into isnβt actually the problem.
I have no problem with more unit provision in schools, but in out Trust, two of schools agreed with their LAβs to set some up and both have been treated poorly when LAs reneged over the previously agreed funding. Both schools now have deficit budgets as a result!
He does kick boxing - but is an orange belt, so not sure if he has enough experience to help out - but we could ask. Thanks
Okay - will look at that. Sadly even local animal rescue shelters will only take him if he is 16+! Guess itβs all to do with risk assessments & DBSβs
Looks great - hope it leads somewhere beautiful
My 14 year old son needs to do some voluntary work as part of his DofE. But all the places weβve enquired say they only take 16yrs +. What have other peopleβs children done? #DofE #dukeofedinburgh

This is such good news
As you say, this is about βchild careβ and saving money. And there is nothing wrong in that. But schools are not the answer.
I am happy for staff to have any colour hair, and have tattoos on display - within reason. The tattoos must be appropriate- ie not offensive, rude or affiliated to any negative political signs. But I donβt agree that pupils should also be allowed to have different coloured hair - they are children
It absolutely wonβt work effectively as a suitable provision for babies. Schools do have the right experience or understanding.
This is welcome additional funding - but is just the tip of the iceberg

πΈ No one follows more etiquette rules than the Royal Familyβbut notice how King Charles didnβt make any smart-ass or demeaning comments about Zelenskyβs attire today.
Why? Because respect isnβt about clothesβitβs about character. And thatβs something money canβt buy.
I wouldnβt share too much personal stuff. Just a bit about your hobbies, your journey to how you got to be a DHT, and then about your values and your ethos.
Happy New year - hope 2025 is even better than your 2024. Love to all my family and friends. π₯π₯³πππ #NewYear
This was brilliant- loved Eddie Redmayne in it. Well done @netflix.com
It was a great episode- full of drama.
Whilst Iβm sure it is a worry for farmers - real, family farmers - actually it isnβt equitable that their IHT is a fraction of others. That and the fact the vast majority of farmers voted for Brexit, that has contributed to our economy tanking - they need to pay their dues.
Now that I've fled Leon's site for bluer skies, I'm sure I'll be called an #Ex-X, but personally, I'll always consider myself a #TwitterQuitter.
