The Dialogue, Silent Beat, Dialogue 3-panel set-up is one of the most invaluable tools in the comic writer's kit.
Works for comedy, works for emotional punches, etc. It is such an easy an effective way to use pacing in a sequential medium that requires the reader to keep it moving.
