Time is Ticking: Don't Let Your Incorporated Society Disappear | Lowndes Jordan Time is Ticking: Don't Let Your Incorporated Society Disappear

They have to reregister by the same April 2026 deadline but have a concession on that one clause if in current constitution, until 2028. It shouldn’t be forced on them at all IMO. I wrote about some of the issues here www.lojo.co.nz/insights/tim...

The residents associations problem is significant and redoing those is not easy as many will also have covenants on titles that may need to be changed as well. The association property is effectively common so stipulating it cannot go to property owners on windup is odd

Ha - now that I live in GY, I don’t get to AKL that often and even less to K Road but here I am sitting in a cafe in St Kevin’s arcade eating a sausage roll and listening to Tainted Love. I’m back in my student salad days!!!

FWIW we advise people to create trustee companies instead of putting themselves personally as trustees because one can change directors/shareholders without having the hassle/cost of transferring titles and redoing banking where new family members take over control of theβ€œfamily assets”

A person who has never set foot in the US, whose funds in that country have already been irrevocably forfeited, is to be extradited for alleged copyright infringement (hardly a β€œreal” crime), at whatever massive cost has already been incurred by NZ. KDC is an oddball but … really?!

Thanks for sharing Tash. One of the commenters described the LLM as a psychopath. As much as this buys into the equally dangerous tendency to anthropomorphise LLMs, I’ve got to agree. Hallucination is a β€œnice” description for what is aptly described by the author as lying … repeatedly

I wish kiwifoo was still a thing. It was a huge and thankless task for @gnat.bsky.social @publicaddress.bsky.social Jenine et al, but I think we need it for the same reasons you refer to re reclaiming online spaces eh @sachajudd.com

Grrrr - why does each online meeting app (zoom, teams, G meet etc) use a different video and microphone setting on my laptop, so I need to do the bloody β€œcan you hear me” dance each time I switch to a different app

Goodness, I get the impression that this has been thrown together in a hurry as it confuses having an account with access and even has an incorrect internal clause cross reference

NYT Games β€œConnections” is so jingoistically American that even when I get the four groups out by a process of elimination, sometimes I still don’t understand how the last group is connected 🧐

The failure to adhere to an acceptable butter:bun ratio was the primary reason Huntly was awarded shit town of New Zealand in 2019

There was a guy in Manaia, South Taranaki, Mad Mac he was called IIRC. He sold my father a series of these and the later DS. Loved those cars and their hydraulic suspension systems. Taranaki was full of them in the day

… and then, having just fixed the problem, get me all riled up again by spamming me with a β€œhow did we do” request for me to spend more time being reminded of how they stuffed up in the first place 😑😑😑

What is it that makes telcos, banks, power companies et al think it’s a good idea to first waste my time by stuffing something up, then force me to navigate labyrinthine automated call support lines to get to a real person …

Indeed. But it could have been handled differently, with those few issues that are now likely to ground calls for SGMs, being able to have been addressed by current members. As it now stands, an SGM is effectively being invited by council
