“Paying attention to plants challenges historians to radically rethink common divisions of time and place, and assumptions about whose lives are historically interesting or significant.”
@sadiahqureshi.bsky.social on what we can learn from the lives of endangered plants such as the Wollemi pine.
Pop by and I'll make you a cocktail!
This is a favourite introduced to me by Roberto. A Venetian Spritz should actually use Select, rather than Aperol. (Imo Select is superior in all drinks)
A little glimpse into the wonderful Sound+Purpose conference I had the privilege to attend last month.
Congratulations! Great project!
Fire has not ceased
Congratulations to my dear friend, colleague and mentor-supervisor @samirasaramo.bsky.social for the completion of her exciting and ground-breaking @koneensaatio.fi funded project. I was honoured to give a presentation at the final seminar. Here’s to more life changing projects!
Thank you @lottaleiwo.bsky.social for being part of the event and the process, overall 🩷
On Thursday I got to reflect on the past years of working on my "Deep Mapping the 'Uncharted Territories' of Finnish Migrant History" project with wonderful colleagues near and far. Without exaggeration, this project has changed my life. Thank you @koneensaatio.fi!

I had the pleasure of hosting a workshop for MA and PhD researchers working on Finnish North American topics as the final event of my @koneensaatio.fi project at @infomigration.bsky.social. Really great to build our research community.
Picture is too funny, had to participate. You've just died. 6th picture in your gallery is what killed you.

I can't believe it's happened but I've gotten so used to Calibri that now Times New Roman looks unpleasant. For years I would cringe at Calibri (and the like) and do all that I could to avoid it.
I have a lot of font thoughts but I'm trying to overcome them for the sake of accessibility.

I love Jesse. A forever regret is that I missed my interview time with him years ago when I had a media pass for Winnipeg Folk Fest. The one time I didn't check my mail slot first thing in the morning and was too slow getting to media tent from his set. He was gone by the time I got there. 😭
Such cute double bagels! 😍
