I always pick up annuals in the post Christmas sales. They are so inviting to reluctant readers! Have got them for as cheap as Β£1 in previous years.

Summative**
Thanks for your reply. I was wondering more about summarise fluency assessments like the Collins Assessing Fluency for example.
Hello #Edusky can you help me with something? How often do you assess childrenβs fluency of reading in Key Stage 2? #EduSkyPrimary
I hate that Iβve been getting Black Friday deals emails for over a week and now itβs Black Friday these companies are all emailing me to tell me itβs Black Friday today. I remember when it wasnβt a thing and now itβs not just a day, itβs a whole bloody fortnight!

Absolutely! I find it works so well with having little ones
I love that Wednesday is my day off. So many people are like βwouldnβt you rather a Monday or Friday?β But honestly Wednesday is so good. Gives me chance to stop and pause the hectic-ness and I feel like I get two βFriday feelingsβ
Tomorrows to-dos: lead KS2 collective worship, coordinate VR experience workshops, SIAMS prep, English lead local cluster meeting, staff meeting, governors meeting. Iβm already looking forward to going to bed tomorrow night! π«
Really? I mean itβs almost funny itβs so completely ridiculous and tone deaf. So getting rid of the judgements was justβ¦ so they could replace it with something worse. Okay.
This article is a bit of a word salad but reminds me of when I stepped back from a curriculum leader role at a previous school. My role was readvertised as the same job but with βexecutiveβ in front of the title. I was baffled. Same job, same pay but βexecutiveβ? Hated the word ever since.
On the whole feeling very optimistic about going back this week. I was on mat leave last year and not going back for September was weird. Love the fresh feel of the start of the year- new equipment, everything tidy and organised and not feeling utterly exhausted!
When you think first day back is just a TED so you can relax a bit longer
Then you remember youβre leading the training.
One of the hardest things to do as a parent is continue when you feel ill. Iβve had a raging cold all day and had to stagger through the day with my 5y/o and 1y/o. Safe to say I have been counting the minutes till bedtime so I can collapse into bed π«
Half past 8 and getting dark. Bring on the cosy autumn evenings!
3/ I know Iβm very lucky to have six weeks off to be with my children and not have the juggle of work around them being off (how do people do it?!) but I think we need to normalise just needing time for yourself and feeling okay about it!
2/ my 5 y/o or by myself have been so needed. Iβve been able to recharge and spend time with my eldest 1:1 which we havenβt done at all since her sister was born. I still feel such a pang of guilt every time I drop her off which is ridiculous because sheβs thriving at nursery and so happy there.
𧡠Mum Guilt
1/ Iβve struggled a lot with mum guilt these last four weeks. My youngest (1 y/o) is in nursery 4 days a week normally and itβs year round so we still have to pay over the summer. I decided to keep her in 2/3 days each week. Iβve felt so much guilt but these days either spent with
Love this! Thank you
I think the one thing that stood out to me is the number of problems you have to resolve- didnβt anticipate it! But itβs so much better to give yourself time to think rather than react too quickly. Every day is different but I love the variety of the role. Thanks! Sure youβll smash it!
I love it! I actively avoid that aisle sometimes because I know I will buy something π
Welcome! Iβm a PT DHT in a small one form entry school. Iβve only been in post since Summer 1 so still new to the role. One thing Iβve found is that sometimes itβs okay to say βlet me think about thatβ and not try to solve every problem on the spot.
I love it so far! Hope it all goes well for you!
Powerless before the TK Maxx/Homesense notebook and stationery section!
Love my new planner from TK Maxx. Iβm too reliant on the outlook calendar and need to get better at writing things down!
My husband has now told me four times in the last couple of days that the Premier League is starting this weekend. Everytime he gets the same reactionβ¦
Will this just be another distraction from planning my TED day CPDβ¦ alongside bingeing Love is Blind episodes and uploading stuff on Vinted π€
Used to love edutwitter but have just lurked for years. Excited for a new platform! Iβm a primary DHT (p/t), English Lead and Y6 teacher. ππ» #EduSky
