Backstory:
The EU and UK have, as a result of EU directives and publications, a 'making available to the public' right in copyright law. My assumption is that the claim here is based on the licenses between game publisher and composers not expressly including that right.
They will often die WHILE IN THE CARE OF THE STORE. Corporate does not care. It costs more to make arrangements with wholesalers to produce in the correct season than to write off a couple thousand hanging baskets.
Big box retailers often get plants in because spreadsheets in corporate say that this is when the most of [plant] are sold across the country. They may do a little sorting by zone, but not as much as you think they should. Lowes and Walmart will thus have tables full of plants that will freeze.
Nevertheless, a few things to keep in mind for new gardeners:
Just because they sell it at the garden center DOES NOT mean it’s safe to plant it now.
The big-box garden center does not care once the plant is out of their hands. If it freezes, it’s not their problem.

if you ask a random person how high the tallest building is, they inevitably say a number way bigger than reality, ask how fast the fastest car or plane is and they come up with a number much bigger than reality and this holds true at all points until for some reason you ask how big a cargo ship is
