Really sorry to be missing Caroline Lucas talking about how to combat the far right this week. But if you can, get to the Pleasance Theatre in Edinburgh on Tuesday or Cottiers in Glasgow on Wednesday. More about why this matters in this blog (also with ticket info):
Last week I: Spoke at the 'Scotland for Palestine' rally at Scot Parl, highlighting Scot Gov's failure to live up to BDS commitments (pics) Hosted Young Sea Changers in Parliament, & heard about their priorities to protect marine biodiversity Raised Engender's 10 steps to improve the lives of women in Scot Parl ahead of international women's day Met with the FBU, Victim Support Scotland and Crisis to discuss ongoing campaigns and issues Maggie is pictured between two people from Young Sea Changers, holding up a map of Scotland.
Snowdrops & narcissi are out and March is well underway. I marked International Women's Day at a poetry reading in Aberdeen, caught up with the @FBU about ongoing issues, and was pleased to welcome @youth4seas.bsky.social to the Scottish Parliament. Here's a snapshot of some of my activities:

When it comes to your healthcare, it's OK to ask questions...
It's OK to ask... What are the benefits of this treatment?
It's OK to ask... any alternative treatments I can try?

Foudland Hill Wind Farm Community Consultation Round 1 Event Tuesday 10th March 2026 Insch-Leslie-Premnay-Oyne Parish Church, Insch, AB52 6AF, between 3pm and 7pm Please scan the QR code below to view our website. Why? Koehler Renewable Energy UK (KRE) is developing Foudland Hill Wind Farm (the Proposed Development), which would include up to nine turbines with a maximum blade tip height of up to 200m, along with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of up to 20 MW capacity. As part of this round of engagement, we plan to hold one public event to share information and invite feedback.
Background The Foudland Hill Wind Farm proposal includes up to nine wind turbines (up to 200m to blade tip) and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of up to 20 MW. The site lies approximately 6.4 km north of Insch and 8.5 km south-east of Huntly. Depending on the model selected for the final design, each turbine could generate up to 7.2 MW. Together with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of up to 20 MW, this would give the development a total installed capacity of up to 84.8 MW. Consultation KRE held a well attended Meet the Developer event on Thursday 26th June 2025. The team will now be holding two rounds of consultation events to maximise community engagement. Because of its size, this is a Section 36 application meaning it will be determined by Scottish Ministers, with Aberdeenshire Council as a statutory consultee. The first round will be held on: Tuesday 10th March 2026, Insch-Leslie-Premnay-Oyne Parish Church, Insch, AB52 6AF, between 3pm and 7pm Exhibi
