This week we are sharing the discovery story of ENS-002, Concerto Bioβs clinical-stage asset for atopic dermatitis through a manuscript on bioRxiv.
This work demonstrates what becomes possible when microbial ecosystems are explored systematically and combinatorially.

Lawrence and I got into what itβs like to build Concerto Bio, cofounder dynamics, and microbial products. Big thanks to Lawrence and the ARTO team.

Itβs been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). Iβm reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
Fav analogy to explain the dif between millionaire and billionaire:
a million seconds is ~11.5 days, a billion seconds is 31.7 years
Haha, where have seen those same inclusion criteria π€
If there is something that AI should be able to fix, is me typing todayβs date with 2024 instead of 2025 into a doc. Help, anyone?

If you truly believe that your tech can be helpful to others then donβt leave it behind a paywall on a journal. Do what you can to push it out of academia and into the real world. It is hard, but I think it is super important. You have to be the biggest champion of your own tech!
It would be great to be part of this one π. Thanks for putting it together!
This is so important. It is great to see attention grow here, particularly on the need for new tech-dev and the potential benefits of more small/pilot scale facilities.
At its core, ENS-002 represents more than just a potential therapeuticβitβs a step toward delivering meaningful solutions to patients. And every step forward is made possible by the people who believe in the mission.
I also want to express my deep gratitude to the individuals who have decided to participate in this clinical trial. You are vital to advancing science and improving lives.
This milestone reflects the tireless efforts of the Concerto team, who transformed an idea into a reality in record time. From the disc team who uncovered its potential, the CMC team who paved the way, to the reg & clin folks that have now driven it into the clinic, your inspire me daily. Thank you.
I am so incredibly proud of the work we have put into this milestone.
Concerto Biosciences has dosed the first participant in a Phase 1 trial of ENS-002, our live biotherapeutic targeting S. aureus virulence to treat atopic dermatitis (eczema).

Iβll just sayβ¦ donβt microwave DMSO π
It heats up VERY fast and will melt whatever container π« while creating a bunch of other hazards

Microbio and synthetic biology are hard.
A big βthank youβ feels like an appropriate first post at a new platform π
After all, I wouldnβt be here without their help.
I like to keep a personal hall of fame that includes the folks that said βyesβ when I asked for help or needed an opportunity
It was a lot easier for them to say βnoβ
I keep my hall of fame as a ppt slide and was lucky to present it in front of many of them at my PhD defense β€οΈ
Forever grateful!
π Iβd love to be a part of this one. Thank you!
π Iβd love to join, thank you!
