Today is the South African wine industry's birthday. Our wine industry is unique in having a recorded birth date. On 2 February 1659 the Dutch governor wrote: “Today praise be to God, wine was made for the first time from Cape grapes”. So today we are 367 years special.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
