Who in the good god damn does that boy think he is deciding he has the authority, let alone the right, to decide who rules Iran?

I once saw a Dachshund / American Staffie mix and it looked like it would tip forward and keel over if it stopped suddenly. It was amazing. 14/10 good dog.

Crom famously does not listen. To hell with him.

Many years ago I worked at a newspaper and I’d laid out the front page. We nearly published the front page headline, β€œARAFAT MOSTLY DEAD”

I’m sure there’s more that people can think of. No dystopia like a crowdsourced dystopia.

Yes: generative AI is an ethical and epistemological nightmare.

I see. Complicity it is, then.

I played a Druid in a 1e AD&D campaign from levels 3 to 12. Bramble of the Gnarley Wood (actually from near Hommlet) acquired a potion of black dragon control that darkened his character sheet for YEARS. In that time we encountered all manner of dragons: green, brass, red, cloud, gold. Never black.

Respectfully, as a 3rd culture kid European who grew up in part in Reagan-era NJ, nothing happened. It’s always been this. It was always going to go there.

The staff at a nearby restaurant has come to appreciate that whenever I’m there I am as courteous and uncomplicated as possible. In return I get absolutely superb service. Do I win at eating at restaurant? Don’t know. I just like eating there. 🀷

Am German. And yes fundamentally you aren’t wrong. But the fact is that even in Germany there’s a reactionary hard-right, and they love Trump (and Putin). They’re essentially neu-fascists. Our work is *FAR* from done. We must remain *FOREVER* vigilant.

I think β€œman from Norfolk” is the best euphemism ever for β€œdisgraced member of a royal family” I have seen in ages.

Something something Popper’s intolerance paradox.

You know, if a European leader had met with an American official, or even Trump, and essentially expressed a wildly biased endorsement like this, that European official would 1. Be accused of interfering in another country’s politics and 2. Fairly immediately be made to resign.

If I recall correctly, 1984 is when David Lynch’s movie adaptation of Dune came out.

I also think that all ships in Traveller have weird and mostly harmless little alien gribligs slithering about at all times, like ship’s rats of old. They get picked up all over. I’d be suspicious of a ship that _didn’t_ have a complement of quasi-symbiotes.

The missing player being relegated to scrubbing the fresher / fixing an annoying but time consuming technical defect in the coffee maker / feeding the beach ball alien in the ventilation system was what I assumed we have all done since time immemorial.

That said, using the space station set as a laser tag venue would be absolutely awesome.

It seems to me that one of the most insidious aspects to the current reliance upon technology and *The Algorithm* is self-censorship to avoid demonetisation and shadow-banning. And you’re right. It’s ghastly.
