You mean to tell me that one of the main cards of the set and all over promotions was cleared with no wip's, no alt versions, nothing at all? This is basics with art commissions, even game devs practice this in the indie scene let alone triple A.

If we're going with that, then the management failed to verify and ensure art used for their MAIN CARDS based on commission was valid. So yes, the company, not just the artist commissioned who traced the art, is responsible. Using the artist as a scapegoat doesn't clear them of accountability.

I mean yeah? But even then the way they addressed it was really passive and didn't seem like they cared as much as they cared they were caught.

So the art was ripped beat-for-beat but the devs, artists, and pokemon are not at fault in any way? So who's at fault at that point? The fan???

I'm referring to the mobile card game. They lifted the Ho-oh art straight from a fan which was a bad look since it was like one of THE cards of the set. Gamefreak directly wasn't involved but still a major oversight from Pokemon the company.

I hope one day we get one of these where they actually bring in and pay fakemon artists just so we can get original designs and not just blatant theft. After all stealing art from fans is Pokemon's job XD
