We can do better. My campaign is all about affordability and working-class issues. We need candidates who can actually live the values we talk about. That’s how we rebuild trust, and that’s how Democrats win majorities again nationally.

One of my main opponents (and the establishment's preferred candidate), Adrian Boafo, actually works as a top lobbyist for Oracle – one of the big tech companies driving the data center boom! Sending DC lobbyists to DC is exactly how we ended up with a system that doesn’t work for ordinary people.

From our recent candidate forum in Waldorf. People in this district tell me the same thing over and over: they don’t feel like the Democratic Party is looking out for them. The last thing anyone wants is for their electricity bills to keep rising because we turn a blind eye to massive data centers.

"We are being governed by morons"
Many comments along this line. Not exactly. Nadia Schadlow went to Cornell and has a PhD from Johns Hopkins. They are liars and they know they are lying, and their willingness to lie shamelessly is how they advance so far in the Trump administration.

In case it is not obvious, war mongers like to minimize the role of Congress in decisions to use force because obtaining prior congressional authorization makes it harder to go to war.
Exactly as intended by the US Constitution.

NBC News poll
Voters hold negative views of Al. In fact, the only topics less popular in the survey were the Democratic Party and Iran.
Truly a perfect news alert

I'm not making up the thing about saving coal, that was actually the rationale. Not sure why the Trump administration would want that.

Daylight Savings Time started out as a way to reduce coal consumption during World War I. In the end, it didn’t really save any energy. Congress actually came very close to ending DST in 2022: the Senate passed a bill *unanimously* but it stalled out in the House. In Congress, I'll reintroduce it.

Trump is wearing a baseball cap from his own merch store, but the fawning media notices not and simply describes the process as "dignified."
Compare how the media treated Biden for checking his watch. And didn't Obama get in trouble for saluting his detail while carrying a cup of coffee?

Meaningfully, democracies are *also* failing to strategically coordinate and support each other in our current era.

There isn't anything technically complicated about how the opposition can resist Trump in Congress.
It's just a mindset adjustment more than anything.

Please join me tonight at a candidate forum hosted by the Charles County Democratic Central Committee and moderated by Tracee Wilkins from @nbcwashington.com. We'll be at the Jaycee's on Crain Highway in Waldorf from 5:30pm.
The event is open to the public, but no swans will be in attendance.

Vaguely recall that a paroled inmate committing a terrible crime was enough of a scandal to undercut the Dukakis campaign. This is objectively worse in term of Trump's responsibility, but will get a fraction of the attention.

All, please follow @citizensimpeachment.com with a whole long list of Congressional primary candidates (including me, in Maryland 5th) who have pledged to back impeachment proceedings. Already have @analiliafornj.bsky.social in NJ-11 and other coming down the pike to help form a caucus next year.

I realize that it’s hard to keep track of all the impeachable offenses that the Trump administration commits on a daily basis, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for allowing them to continue. In Congress, I’ll fight to impeach, convict, and remove the President and his out of control administration.

We could have built this ourselves, bombed it ourselves, and rebuilt it ourselves again, and it'd still cost less than what we've actually spent on wars in the Middle East for zero return

Holding my son makes everything feel so much more immediate and personal. I’m running for office in the first place because I want him (and every kid) to grow up in a country (and a world) that is free, democratic, stable, and secure. That’s the world I’ll be fighting for.

Toby is entering a world that feels far less stable than the one I grew up in during the 1990s. I’m so angry watching American leadership slide toward gangsterism: war with Iran, cozying up to authoritarian regimes like Russia, and picking fights with democratic allies for Trump's personal benefit.

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here. Our son Toby arrived earlier than expected! He’s unbelievably tiny, but doing well so far. He’ll be in the NICU for a few weeks, not much to do except watch him breathe. But I have a feeling I’ll be doing that the rest of my life! Peak millennial parenting.

To be clear, the GOP majority abdicating its congressional responsibilities and ceding its power to the executive is a choice.
Republicans could call votes and end this today if they wanted to. They choose not to.

They went to war with Iran (which nobody in America was asking for) so they could conjure an excuse to allow ICE to keep murdering Americans and teargassing schools here at home with impunity (which nobody in America was asking for).

The War Powers Resolution needs a complete overhaul because it's obviously failed, but at the end of the day, there's no procedural trick around having a Congress that's willing to stand back and watch a president flagrantly break the law and the Constitution and do absolutely nothing about it.
