One of my recent projects that Iโm particularly fond of is doing the drop caps for Camilla Andrewโs Essence of the Equinox series.
I really love doing fancy lettering, and would love to do more projects like this in the future!

Going through a lot of portfolios this week and i am BEGGING people:
Put ON THE IMAGE what you did.
Did you design the character? Or only do the turn around. Did you design the background? Or only paint it? Or do prod bgs based off the key?
Iโm not a detective! Iโm just an art director!
oh i had this realization once
"Tidy up" turned into "this library doesn't fail gracefully when you give it unexpected data so I'm gonna have to dance around that case so the application doesn't break."
It worked!
But I have a bunch of things I need to tidy up.
Also wondering if I should remove the specific mentions of GIF, since it technically also supports animated PNG and animated WEBP. And now (or publicly soon) AVIF.
What a year, huh? ๐
Anyway, I'm annoyed that I don't have an animated avif viewer apart from opening them in a browser, so I'll see if GIF Enjoyer can have animated avif support.

This is my bi-annual pitch to check out Proton Mail, Firefox, and Duck Duck Go. I made the switch over a year ago, and I haven't had any issues. โ๏ธ

Kodansha, Kadokawa, Square Enix, Shogakukan, Akita Shoten, The Association of Japanese Animations and thirteen other co-signers released a joint statement denouncing Open AIโs Sora 2 for infringing on their copyright without permission/proper compensation
I had to check because this was true in Affinity Designer 1.10
But yes, you can still copy and paste outline shapes from Affinity to Clip Studio Paint (and back).
In Affinity, you have to enable "Copy items as SVG" in the settings.
In CSP, you have to use "Copy vectors as SVG"

lrt I don't think you have to fully agree with every point as something applicable to you, but I think they are very important points to consider.
Yes, absolutely keep your perfectionism in check. Have fun doing other challenges. But shame about not being able to do Inktober is kind of unhinged.
Inktober sets completely unrealistic expectations regarding output. Making a complete inked drawing in one day EVERY day for a month is insane and a recipe for burnout. Donโt tie your worth to something that even professionals believe is unrealistic.
I suspect framing "zooming in" as a "bad habit" wasn't a winning strat.
I think It's helpful to frame it as "zooming in is (unnecessary) hard mode for seeing the whole shape and monitoring the full impression".
Oh, just at the bottom. Interesting.
The problem with questions of obviousness is that you can't just ask "what was obvious to you?" because anyone could very well not conceptually have something in mind precisely because it was obvious.
The poll would have to be some list of things that are clearly shown and described.
By "dead areas" did you mean some parts didn't detect the pen anymore so the pointer jumps?
I wish there was some kind of large poll/survey of artists asking what aspects of art were immediately obvious to them, and which aspects made sense once it was explained, and then which aspects made no sense for a long time even after explanations.
