This woman was alerting the homeless encampment that the bulldozers were coming. And was promptly arrested and detained. Ugly and wrong. Volunteers trying to help the less fortunate as well as homeless still there getting arrested. In the dead cold of winter.

The hardest thing about putting a new book together is revisiting things. Old feelings that you'd rather stay buried, other ones that are unrequited, and some that you'd rather not let people see. But you do it anyway. Poetry is cathartic emotions that live in all of us.
