West Virginia can ban Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming surgery, US court rules A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday upheld West Virginia's ban on Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming surgeries, the latest victory for Republican-led states seeking to curb the procedures amid an ong...

A 4th circuit panel of Republican appointees has ruled that Medicaid coverage bans on gender affirming care for adults are not unconstitutional. They cited Skrmetti 70 times in the decision. The en banc circuit court previously found it unconstitutional.

Reminder to people who say "transition for minors via HRT is experimental" that this is EXACTLY what happened to intersex people for decades, often without their understanding of what was happening. Some even changed identification during puberty and changed which hormones they took.

BREAKING: A judge refused to block a Kansas law that invalidates the driver’s licenses of transgender people and allows trans people to be sued for using public restrooms.

This isn't the final say, and we will keep fighting in court to stop this discriminatory law.

New NHS England Review Excluded 97% Of All Trans Studies To Say Care Doesn't Work The new review has led to a ban for HRT through the NHS England system under the age of 18.

… and doctors/reviewers should, in that situation, defer to patients’ experiences and stated needs, not ban a treatment simply because of β€œlack of evidence”.

This analysis by @erininthemorning.com is also something you might find useful.

You can pussify a dick like origami. You can't get someone who thinks recycling is gay to wash his ass.

For medicine the primary concern should be "does QOL improve beyond acceptable risks of the treatment?" HRT is generally low risk (ymmv). So the focus should be on QOL. Notice where it is ignored, and you see where a major issue lies.

That is, everyone has an opinion about trans people, but we only really need be concerned with those opinions that already agree with ours. In short, it's less research as it is creation of a narrative.

10.03.2026 17:20 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Depends on the research. Some is genuinely "does this improve or prevent worsening of mental health issues?" Others start with seemingly foregone conclusions that they then look for evidence for.

Oh lordy I'm curious now... I have some very bad feelings about that... That I may recognize the trend...

All this goes to say that... Despite whatever the GCs and TERFs of today may claim, they base a fair amount of their thinking in people who are generally not well regarded by trans people, despite their complicated involvement in early trans care.

I'm also of the opinion that Raymond cribbed heavily from both Stoller and Money. But where those two were sympathetic to adults, Raymond only saw a way to pathologize and to justify her stances.

And this was based in part on what Stoller was pushing in the 60s. A child that was too cuddly, too precious to the mother, who desires to make this child into her missing... equipment. And no I am not joking. This is what the man wrote.

Yesterday the NHS banned all under 18 prescriptions of HRT for trans young people.

This ban was justified by 10 new studies that largely stated NO EVIDENCE for under 18s HRT exists.

The study underpinning this played one particular trick.

Let's briefly look at how the NHS rigged the game 1/5

The changes were of course small, but they were enough to effectively alter how care could be delivered in the future after actual legal changes are made. If they're made. Which atm it isn't clear they ever will be.

...even so, the guidelines were altered to fall in line with PROPOSED changes to Japanese law on legal transition. This indicates to me that medical professional bodies are not always free from politics.

10.03.2026 14:29 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

However, this could all start a move on the political side to restrict care IF someone decides that will be a winning argument. Revisions to treatment guidelines for adults came following shifts in political realities following a JSC ruling. Legal changes never came, but...

To be clear, I have yet to see many rumblings in Japan about any of this. Even politically. Trans youth care exists in Japan but is fairly tightly controlled by the relevant medical groups. I don't even know right now how many youth are on blockers bc the stats aren't published afaik.

Hrm... DIA I'm guessing. They have a ton of renaissance works left by American industrialists. But this makes some sense. They were going on about peaking a few months before all this. I assume now this was because someone was doing it to them. Can't be certain of course.

A new Bureau of Prisons move requiring that transgender inmates be tapered off their hormones could bring serious health consequences, physicians and advocates warn.

In other words, there will never be a "safe and effective" vaccine. It's the same for GAC. There is no burden of proof that can be met that will satisfy them. The goal posts will always move. Everyone else suffers for their poor understanding of science.

... AsΒ  fan of H.R. Giger, I have been collecting his prints and corresponding with him for some time. So, when he arrived in Los Angeles for the Academy Awards, I wasted no time in contacting him. Enclosed is a photograph of him posing with his award for ALIEN. He had just been to Disneyland the day before, which explains the hat. As a fan of STARLOG, I would like to share this picture with the readers. I’m sure they would enjoy seeing this Mouseka-Giger!
