looks like when you use your own pds there's nothing telling you to setup the DNS records. it just lets you use a handle.

oh that’ll be fine then. i only have one active pds wise. the only other active ones are all my bot accounts that only use chat which sadly is still centrally hosted.
might try this for my next account. got 10 or so to move over. do you know if a PDS has a limit on the amount of accounts it can manage? i remember bluesky saying you needed permission to have more than a certain amount. 🤔
the whole goat migration command needs way more safe guards if they expect people like me to be able to actually use it. imma migrate my others over before i try my main 'cause fuck getting that one stuck.
okay i finally managed to migrate an account but both the migrated and new account still show invalid handle yet they pass on bsky-debug.app/handle?handl...
okay i think deleting the account on my pds and re-doing it worked. imma do a blog write up on all of this later.
oh ffs. and the automatic command fails if the PLC token expires you also cant re-run it..
