Omg, but that is so Archie’s dog. She loves her giant boy so much and she is adamant that she can understand him. No one believes her, but she actually kind of can with his mannerisms. She doesn’t make him show and only does it when he “tells” her he’s okay with it.

Somehow, Ed hears about Stede (who knows how) and they begin messaging a lot in preparation for the dog show. Izzy is So Not Jealous and Definitely Not Turned On by his husband eventually sexting this guy under the guise of giving grooming tips.

Through this mess, he learns about Ed and becomes fascinated with him and his efforts to show that breeds do not inherently result in certain behaviors and Stede is enamored by that (my man loves looking for ~*~signs~*~).

Stede is a newcomer who, of course, gets into dog shows in his recent divorce. He adopts a dog with his kids and learns that the dog would be able to compete, which interests his children. Instantly, he is all in. +

The years that Ed doesn’t compete almost always go to Zheng Yi Sao, who researches proper canine obedience and how to ensure a balance of nurturing and discipline for dogs (Garlic Soup does happen, but through a series of one night stands between different two members over several dog shows) +

Typically, he and Izzy would both show a dog at events, though Ed’s appearances are on and off due to his own mental health. Any time Ed shows a dog, he gets Best in Show. Regardless of if Ed is there or not, Izzy’s dog is always first in group, but never wins Best in Show. +

Oops, I’ve developed a mild plot, but need to select dogs, lol.
I think for Steddyhands, it would be that Ed and Izzy are in a long-term relationship in which they raise certain dog breeds together. A lot of emphasis on “aggressive” breeds and how they’re only aggressive if not trained or cared for+

Lucius and Pete have a Chinese Crested that they rescued from a dumpster, only to learn she’s a purebred, so they get into dog showings. She’s named Pointer for the fact that she liked to chew Lucius’s wooden finger when she was a baby.

Okay, so I may have started scheming. Idk yet what each ship’s “plot” would be (hmu if you have ideas), but I’ve started thinking of breeds. First off, Frenchie and Wee John have a trio of borzois with drag queen-esque names.

First off, I will say, whatever dog Lucius and Pete have is an abomination. Either it’s just a tiny dog that is rat-adjacent or it is one of those breeds that is half huge dog and half tiny dog. That is certain.

I always forget how “visible” my autism is until I mentioned this debacle to my dad and he briefly reminisced about how, as a child, he would basically have to hose me in the face at the sink after taking NyQuil, otherwise I would cry so hard I’d puke up said medicine. 😌😌
