When you think about it, PLUR is inherently genocidal.
It’s got me thinking about the desire to divest musicians from those that manufacture weapons from genocidal entities. How does this make any sense?
I really can’t imagine making my living off of another cultures survival traditions. Maybe this is the privilege of being Black… alas, how does one’s soul survive this?
It is plainly evident that r&b, once a survival utility and tradition of African Americans has been completely divested and commodified. The same goes for house music.
I woke up this morning and began watching an MTV countdown of girl group singles from the 90s up to now. It confirmed what I’ve known, about the racialization of popular music…
Now this is a white flight that I can endorse.
To any young person who wants to make the world a better place, best of luck to you. But I must admit that shit has been deeply unsustainable, largely unrewarding, financially risky and damaging to my health. I think it was stupidity and naïveté to try to be good.

We’re all drugged (self/or prescribed, no judgement) just to make it through the day. And frankly it still isn’t enough to make any of this shit feel okay.
We have all these apps to create connection, meanwhile, this plethora of persons creates the most fickle sort of connecting. We trade ourselves and others like commodities.
Rapists and Serial Killers (a.k.a. Weapons investors) hold so so so much power. This is not even capitalism it’s straight murderocracy.
The culture, exceptionally broadly speaking, is a mess. It feels exceptionally hopeless. Once again, I watch young people move in deeply segregated modalities. Once again, thin is all the way in and now we are also lying about full bodies (acceptable provided an ideal ratio).
I somewhat loathe the saying “random thought.” Like absolutely not random, that is not how thoughts are made…
