Indiefjord news: @soootsprite.bsky.social (EN) is playing! According to @lurkmoophy.bsky.social they are one of those bands that should be a million times bigger than they are. Dreamy shoegaze that folks who like Agent BlΓ₯ or @alvvaysband.bsky.social will love.

Now that shape() is available in all major browsers, let me remind you that you can use my online generator to create any polygon with ... rounded corners!

Adjust the setting, then copy the code.

Is this a record? 57 days into the year and we’ve had our first piece of good news for 2026?

How LLMs use MCPs to read your design system and how to write prompts that work with that - zeroheight Learn how LLMs prioritise and interpret design system documentation through MCP servers β€” and how to write prompts that produce more accurate audits and consistent component builds.

After diving into it over the last couple of days, I did a quick @zeroheight.com blog post on what an LLM actually does when it interacts with an MCP, including guidance on how to structure DS docs for MCP use and prompting tips for using something like Cursor πŸ₯°

A comment that gave me joy this morning:

"'Eat the Rich' is so naive - I mean, how many people is Bezos going to feed? Like 2-3 people at the most. High-yield agriculture is the way to go using them as fertilizer."

Henry, fuck you. Not only for the beauty of this editorial design and all the neat little flourishes, but for the beauty of the story and your storytelling. Stop being so damn talented.

(But also, thank you and i love you and i'm so glad you exist in this world and please never ever stop)

Better than just using 'sample text'. Got to try and indoctrinate everyone to the correct way of thinking πŸ˜‰

Only way I can think of for this is to wrap each letter in a span and do the gradient with a text clip? Anyone else seen good ways to do this?

One of the things I'm still trying to figure out how to do well is creating that kind of 'bloom' effect inside the text, where it's a gradient from the centre of the letter to the outside of the individual letter.

80s Font Experiment ...

Playing with making some glitchy 80s text (mostly) in css.

Some nice layered blur shadows
Animated noise on the letters
Flicker and glitch using CSS animations

Analyzing the design system report responses and y'all are snarky (in the best possible way)

What makes you satisfied with your contribution model?

"What contribution model?"

04.02.2026 16:41 πŸ‘ 8 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Come on folks, only 37% of respondents to the design system report survey have some level of automation set up for their design system. THIRTY SEVEN.

Why does that feel really low?

Does anybody have a good deep dive on when and when not to use `will-change` in css?

Love this quote from the CSS-Trick article: "I’d love to read a 2022 deep dive on will-change. We’re capable of that kind of testing, so I’ll put it in the idea pile." Me too, Chris. Me too.

I know a lot of people run them in Apr-May and Sep-Oct to avoid both Summer and Christmas (which ups the price for venue hire, hotels, travel etc). Not sure why more aren't in Jan/Feb though? I know New Adventures conf used to run in Jan, and State of the Browser has moved to Feb...
