An excellent question. I wonder this as well -- but there are many who don't!
Math teachers: What's your biggest question about outcomes based assessment?
Teachers, you are more than the culminating of the numbers in your gradebook. Your impact goes beyond the 'measureable'.
Here's my hot take: VNPS are great, but they aren't the end all and be all. We also want kids to be able to keep a record of their learning: the messy, the mistakes, the journey.
This is why I have my kids keep Mathematician's Notebooks as a place to record evidence of their learning journey.

Iβm clearly now Howie. Butβ lots
and lots of visuals. Donβt rush to the algorithms. Have kids explore concrete representations and build
connections.
After rejections and passed overs piles up, I wonder why I keep trying.
People will say that students need to be prepared for the real world as if the real world doesn't include joy, curiosity, self-discovery, and grace. #EduSky
