I think its more that if we WANT to believe they're real, practicing and looking for signs/feelings/emotions will help to rationalize it ... and similarly if we want to believe they aren't real, same deal - we'll find ways to identify signs/feelings/emotions to prove that too.
Spiritual person here - raised Catholic, more pantheistic now. I think that faith, like meditation, needs to be practiced to be effective. I’d say to maybe try to find time to pray or meditate daily - talk to God, the Universe, your ancestors … and embrace the emotions you have when you do it.

We wandered the first floor, & get to the escalator. Hubs looks up, eyes widen, & he says, "Welp, your mind is about to be blown." I look up, just see the neon 'N' & knew EXACTLY what store was at the top of the escalator. We go running up, get a selfie outside Suncoast, 🧵
Storytime! So my husband & I were in a mall in Dayton, OH in April for the WGI World Percussion competition, which my eldest competes in. We had some downtime & our hotel was across the street from the mall, so we decided to just take a walk to see what this particular mall had in store for us 🧵

For me, it’s because they spent 6000+ years (millions, if C is to be believed) probably pining for one another, and to be given only a short amount of time together on the earth they watched grow is a tragedy. Plus they can’t visit Alpha Centauri together if they are human!
