The law locks up the man or woman
Who steals the goose from off the common
But lets the greater villain loose

Please back this, so I can get my Big Bundle of Books. Only needs $45 more to be funded, and I can vouch that three of the books are excellent!
(Iβm sure the others are, too, I just havenβt read them yetβ¦ because I am waiting for the kickstarter)
In my grade 10 class, some boys were talking about course planning, and career goals. They had all these beautiful dreams based on their interests and passions, like economics, but then would say, but I can't do that because it will all be Al soon.
It was all I could do not to cry.
Fuck AI
I would also accept it in the form of muppets
Well, thereβs a pull quote if Iβve ever seen one
An image of Darth Vader saying βjoin meβ taken from the end of The Empire Strikes Back
LOOK LOOK LOOK! This series is brilliant. Please read it!
Oh this is absolutely the best news! Just finished 1 and started on 2, and Iβve been scouring the internet for news of #3 like a creep. Youβve seriously made my week.
Seriously everyone needs to read Wild Faith by @swordsjew.bsky.social - explains the implications of evangelism so well (and also makes those of us raised in it realize just how wild and Not Normal some of the things we learned are)
Ohhhhh, Hench! Got more publicity in Canada by being a Canada Reads candidate, but definitely should have more. And the sequel is (finally) coming this year!
And then we use this to guide our voting and government policy. What could go wrong
Good excuse for me to post this again:
The idea of AI being alive is something the techlords need to believe because it's the culmination of their religion.
For the last many decades I've been aware of their shit and it fueled a lot of my academic writing, but it's worth repeating that everything they do is just to make slaves.
Fucking love the library.
Step 1: see this amazing post
Step 2: find book about the coffin texts to learn more
Step 3: check the library! of course they have it. Hold placed!
Step 4: call tattoo artist
I would die for Sam, and I hope he knows that
Harper to the judge: "Your driver's license doesn't list your height and weight at birth. It doesn't list where you used to live. It identifies who you are now."
Kinship and Kindness by @authorkaraj.bsky.social and Voice of Wild Places by @noahhawthorne.bsky.social
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM
You should get this! One of my fave books of the last few years, and such a pretty edition!
Stunning! I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on this
Thatβs even prettier than Iβd imagined!
Bluesky could make a killing by letting us pay to edit our skeets
Everyone should read Wild Faith by @swordsjew.bsky.social for more about this worldview. There are people actively hoping for the βend of the worldβ.
I mean, what are the odds of it happening two weeks in a row?
Yay!! Time to start making my reading list π³οΈββ§οΈ
AI is such a scam investment, I can drink three gallons of water and give you terrible advice, whereβs my $60 billion?
A StoryGraph wrap up of February reads. Physical books are Jackson Alone, The Summer War, and The Reanimatorβs Fate. Audiobooks are The Dawnhounds, Boyfriend Material, and Husband Material.
February was a struggle month for reading, with a couple DNFs. BM and HM were comfort rereads (though first time in audio). Two standouts: The Reanimatorβs Fate was an amazing conclusion to the series. The Dawnhounds is so inventive an engrossing and I canβt wait to finish the trilogy!
This sounds phenomenal. Iβve gone through the huge lists on LGBTQ reads, but Iβm excited to also have something from a more critical eye.
Just bump the stars up to 5, and this would be very similar to my own glowing review (though add in great representations of autism and trauma). I read the final book in the series this month and it managed to break through a pretty brutal reading slump.
tl;dr read this book!
"How can you oppose war when Khamenei was evil?"
Simple. If you killed Donald Trump by nuking Washington DC, I would not mourn Trump but I'd still say you're an evil war criminal who belongs in the Hague. It's really not hard.
