We have been censored in the US for our research on LGBTQ+ sexual violence.

My co-authors and I are extremely concerned about research and activism being censored and the speed with which organisations have acquiesced to transphobic, homophobic and misogynist demands.

Government agencies scrub LGBTQ web pages and remove info about trans, intersex people The State Department’s web page providing adoption information to LGBTQI+ prospective parents now addresses only “LGB” people.

Extremely distressing seeing all US federal agencies being ordered to remove all their LGBTIQ+ content from their web pages. This includes gendered-violence agencies too.

Standing in solidarity with all US-based LGBTIQ+ people, and those working in this space.
